SIP Application Server Capabilities

The SIP Center Server is version 7.1.8 of the Avaya SIP Application Server exposing only the proxy server functions of the platform (i.e. not the SIP Servlet Container, IMS functions, Conference SDK and Application Building Blocks).  It has a standard configuration but if some of the other, configurable, features are required then you can contact the SIP Center and we can allocate a time slot when the server is configured to your requirements. The use of the SIP Application Server is free.  You will need to register here to receive a username and password and instructions on how to access the server.

The basic configuration of the SIP Center SIP Application server supports the following capabilities and features:

• Receive unicast REGISTER - UDP and TCP
• Local outbound proxy
• Compact form for headers
• UDP to TCP and TCP to UDP conversion
• Parallel forking proxy
• Obeys Route header
• Forwards all provisionals upstream
• Understands Proxy-Require
• Receive multicast REGISTER
• Forking proxies: multiple 200 OK responses
• Legal fork looping (different request URIs)
• **Basic and Digest authentication for INVITE
• Can insert Record-Route
• Drops request when Max-Forwards is zero
• Third party registrations
• Multicast INVITE
• Can always redirect
• Process INVITE and BYE - UDP and TCP
• Generate ACK properly
• New request methods (proxied or redirected)
• Digest authentication registrations
• Can receive and propogate CANCEL
• Generates CANCEL on 200 OK when forking
• Forking proxies: sequential
• Recursion on forking
• Forking for non-INVITE
• Can detect loops
• Obeys Expires in INVITE
• Registration proxying
• Received parameter in Via field
• Directed pickup
• INFO method
• TRANSFER method
• Request merging

**Basic and Digest authentication for INVITE is supported on The SIP Center server but is not presently active. Please e-mail us if you would these features temporarily activated.
